PERFORMANCE COACH
BLUE GUM PARK TENNIS CLUB
Nicknames
Ced, Coach Cédrick
Where are you from?
I’m from Guadeloupe, a small island in the Caribbean
What sort of coach are you?
A trainer who is calm, honest and passionate about tennis and the players, who is constantly looking for ways to help both on and off the court, as a person and to enjoy the game.
Why do you coach?
I was lucky enough to meet a coach who had human values that matched my own and incredible leadership. He was a coach who kept his word, respected his commitments and took responsibility. That made me want to become a coach when I saw the impact it could have on a player and those around him.
Most memorable moment/s from your coaching so far
I had many memorable moments:
- Parents thanking me after their child had rediscovered the desire to play tennis.
- When players have progressed to fulfil their dream of playing tennis in the US and studying at the same time.
- A player’s first victory in an ITF $15,000 event, starting from the qualifying draw.
